Inspired by this challenge, Simon envisioned something even more expansive: a series of timeless portraits that would blend the rich, natural beauty of Derbyshire with subtle, powerful elements of sport. With this vision in mind, he set out across the region, tracking perfect locations, chasing golden light from sunrise to sunset, and carefully composing each shot to honour both the landscape and the athletic drive it represents.
Working closely with retoucher Tom during the post-production process, every detail was meticulously refined, from the texture of light to the balance of colour and tone, resulting in a stunning collection of visual art.
