The Dumped Club
The Dumped Club as recently designed and programmed by Fish Media is undergoing a new marketing campaign that is driving fresh new users to the community. An article in the News Of The World brought thousands of visitors to the site with the sign up rate going through the roof. This is great news for the community, the chat room is busy every day and night and users are reporting that they are pleased with the site design and functionality.

Server and Bandwidth Monitoring
Have you ever wondered what all those banks of monitors are in the IT department that display graphs? you know the 5 TFT screens with the GEEK sitting in front. Well, they are most likely to be server monitoring software. At Fish Media we have been monitoring our servers since day one, but only recently have I got involved with the day to day activities of this. I'm very impressed with PRTG Traffic Grapher "PRTG Traffic Grapher is an easy to use Windows software for monitoring bandwidth usage as well as various other network parameters like memory and CPU utilization" Now I can be that GEEK! and while my life away staring at the graphs and get all excited about a bandwidth peak when one of our clients decides to upload a file or stream a video! MiniTalk Re launched
MiniTalk has been live since May of the Millennium year 2000, MiniTalk is Mini Chat for Mini enthusiasts. Re-launched in June 2005, with a new forum to enable greater scope and future development. In the move we have lost over 23213 posts and (possibly) 170 registered members! The old forum will still be available to view until the 'paid for' hosting runs out. We are moving
Fish Media are moving to a new office. We have had a good run in the iD Centre, but now it's time to get a larger office with more scope to grow. We are moving to The Derwent Business Centre.
The Derwent Business Centre was originally a Victorian bonded warehouse. It is over 300 feet long and nearly 90 ft wide and was originally built to accommodate entire trains transporting barrels of beer and crates of whisky!!
The centre is run by the East Midlands Development Agency (emda)

RACE FOR LIFE
Jane is entering the Race for Life again this year, she has a page for donations :) http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/janey It is the Race for Life's twelfth year, and in 2005 they have 162 women-only 5km races across the country, bringing women together to raise money and help cure cancer faster. To date they have welcomed over one million women, who have raised a fantastic £70 million for Cancer Research UK. This year they are hoping to bring 425,000 women together to raise a massive £23 million for vital research into cancer. Below is a pic of her and Jen in 2002

Bandwidth Monitoring
At fish:media we have setup some nifty monitoring software and equipment for our servers. We are using PRTG Traffic Grapher to log SNMP packets to a database and display real-time graphs that are also assessable remotely via HTML
Our network switch is sending out the packets but also enabling SNMP on each server allows us to see which server is being used at any time of the day.

Honda HR-V 'Sports Utility Vehicle' !!
